Returning to COVID-19 Alert Level 2 from midday today (Wednesday, 12 August 2020)

Mōrena APS Whanau,

From midday today, Wednesday 12 August, 2020,  every region in New Zealand, other than Auckland, will return to COVID-19 Alert Level 2. Auckland is returning to Alert Level 3.

Our school is open for all our learners and we expect all our tamariki  at school unless they are unwell. If you or your child/ren are experiencing flu like symptoms please stay at home until you or your child/ren is/are well again.

Hygiene and cleaning protocols will continue as our regular practise. Hand sanitiser's and anti viral cleaners are used in all spaces in school.

We will continue with the school drop off and pick up as we have been doing, with collection at the end of the school day beginning at 2.50pm.  Children will need to be dropped at the school gate in the morning and collected from behind the pink line at the end of the day. Parents and whanau will need to sanitise and sign in when entering the playground so that contact tracing can be carried out if necessary.

Please park in the 5 minute parks outside of school or at The Trafalgar Centre. The school car park is not available to APS school parents/whanau. This is for Kindergarten drop off and collections and for all campus staff.

Assemblies will be held in two groups again. Junior Years 1-3 and Senior Years 4 -6. Apologies to parents but while in Alert Level 2  you will be not be able to attend.

Parents and whanau who have 3-Way-Conference appointments today are still able to keep them. Teachers will be expecting you. There will be handsanitiser available for you and table tops will be wiped between each appointment.

Please be assured that we will continue to keep our school routines going as normal and ensure that our tamariki are happy and well cared for while at school.

Our school life and learning needs to continue in these times with attention to the expected procedures.

If  you have any questions or worries please contact Sonya Hockley, Principal; Rachel Couling, DP/SENCo or Rachel Fitches, AP,  through the school office.
