School Hours

School begins:  9:00 am
Morning break: 10:30 am - 10:50 am
Lunch:               12:30 pm - 1:10 pm
School finishes: 3.00 pm

Absences

If your child is going to be absent from school, please inform the school office, 03-548 7970, or text 027 548 7970 before 9.00am. Alternatively, written notification to the classroom teacher. 

Sun Smart

Auckland Point School takes student health and wellbeing seriously and actively promotes the SLIP,SLOP,SLAP.  We encourage all children to wear sunscreen during the summer months. We advise that this is applied before school and as necessary during the day, we do have sun screen available at the office but we advise children to bring their own.  During Term one and four children are required to wear a sun hat or play in the shade.

Reporting to Parents

We will share your child's progress and achievements with you. Parents are encouraged to discuss their child's progress by contacting the teacher for a suitable time. Teachers will contact you if they have concerns. Written reports are sent home twice a year. These may show a variety of assessments, a sample of achievement objectives from different curriculum areas, skills and attitudes. Students learning books will show examples of your child's learning progress. Student Led Conferences are also held during Term 1 and Learning Showcases throughout the year. 

As Auckland Point School welcomes parents involvement in their child's learning. We welcome any queries and have an open door policy.

School Pool

We are lucky enough to have a school pool. All children are expected to participate in the school swimming programme. Please send a note or talk to your child's teacher if your child is not swimming on a particular day. A pool key can be hired during the summer holidays and after school hours. Please enquire at the school office about this.
